**Job Title: Shop Laborer**
**Job Description**
The shop laborer will be responsible for cleaning welds on parts, washing parts, and helping with various tasks in the shop. This role involves using a mild acid solution and neutralizing it to ensure parts are clean before shipment. The position requires lifting up to 50lbs frequently and utilizing hand-held grinders to grind, polish, and finish parts. The laborer will also stack parts on carts and pallets, sort items into inventory using a cart, and perform repetitive tasks. Basic blueprint reading may be required.
**Responsibilities**
+ Clean welds on parts using a small weld cleaning unit and neutralizing solution.
+ Help with parts coming off the machines.
+ Wash parts for food processing equipment.
+ Lift up to 50lbs frequently.
+ Utilize hand-held grinders to grind, polish, and finish parts.
+ Read and interpret basic blueprints if necessary.
+ Stack parts on carts and pallets.
+ Sort items into inventory using a cart.
+ Use small pencil grinders.
+ Perform repetitive tasks, up to 100 parts at a time.
+ Take care of any tasks needed in the shop.
**Essential Skills**
+ Deburring and grinding experience.
+ Performing shop labor duties.
+ Reliability.
+ Experience cleaning parts.
+ Use of hand tools and power tools.
+ Mechanical inclination.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Attention to detail.
+ Use of a tape measurer.
+ Basic math skills (counting).
+ Automotive experience is a plus.
+ Initiative to grow with the company.
+ Open to individuals with very little experience looking to learn new skills.

**Work Environment**
The facility is very clean, climate-controlled, and well-lit. The shop laborer will work on the production floor with about 15 other employees and will be within 10 feet of their colleagues. The role is on the 1st shift, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with the possibility of extending to 5:30 pm. There may be occasional mandatory shifts on Saturdays from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm, and candidates should be open to working up to 55 hours a week during the busy season.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frankfort, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
