**Job Title: Shop Manager**
**Job Description**
As a Shop Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the welding and maintenance shop, ensuring that all processes meet project requirements and industry standards. You will coordinate with other departments to ensure a smooth workflow and timely project completion. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in team leadership, safety compliance, quality control, resource management, and continuous improvement.
**Responsibilities**
+ Oversee day-to-day operations of the welding and maintenance shop.
+ Ensure all welding and maintenance processes meet project requirements and industry standards.
+ Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
+ Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate shop employees.
+ Assign tasks and monitor the progress of welding and maintenance projects.
+ Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.
+ Ensure all staff adhere to safety standards, company policies, and procedures.
+ Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
+ Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
+ Develop and implement quality control measures.
+ Perform inspections and coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT) as needed.
+ Address any quality issues promptly and effectively.
+ Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
+ Optimize resource utilization to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
+ Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and supplies.
+ Identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
+ Promote continuous improvement practices to enhance productivity and quality.
+ Stay updated with industry trends, standards, and best practices.
**Essential Skills**
+ Supervision experience in welding and maintenance operations.
+ Fabrication and welding expertise.
+ Strong management and leadership skills.
+ Excellent communication skills.
+ Problem-solving and continuous improvement practices.
+ Technical expertise in welding techniques, equipment maintenance, and fabrication processes.
+ Minimum 3 years of management or lead experience.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Good judgment.
+ Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
+ Ability to apply problem-solving skills and techniques in a diverse work environment.
+ Preferably maintenance or millwright experience to help diagnose and repair equipment during the shift.

**Work Environment**
The role requires working in a shop environment with exposure to welding fumes, noise, and heavy machinery. Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Salem, Oregon.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $65000.00

**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Salem,OR.
