Shop Mechanic
ROLE STATEMENT: The Shop Mechanic will be a member of the Repair and Maintenance department responsible for the repair and maintenance of hydraulic fracturing and cementing equipment (including trucks, frac pumps, blenders, hydration units, and cement pumps) using hand and/or power tools and following oral and written work orders. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Shop Mechanic will focus on adhering to Calfrac Well Services operational, safety and environmental policies and procedures at all times.    SCHEDULE: 10 days on, 4 days off COMPENSATION: $22.00-$39.00 an hour, depending on experience   SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES: Provide effective communication with management in the District regarding operations and continuous improvement initiatives Able to participate in the development of policies and procedures to meet operational service line requirements Work with all operations groups, i.e. Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Human Resources, etc. to ensure a trouble free operation Manage employee and equipment assignments and schedules to meet customer requirements to achieve corporate mandate of “Service First”. Ensure adherence to operational policies, procedures to achieve safety objectives. Meet and inspires others to meet the Corporate Code of Business ethics Maintain Calfrac safety standards at all times, including a clean work environment Preventive Maintenance – inspecting equipment for leaks, checking fluids/gauges, cleaning/lubricating parts, inspecting hoses & clamps, frames and crossmembers Troubleshooting malfunctions on all mobile and fixed mounted pressure pumping equipment, including hydraulic and electrical systems, diesel engines, and automatic transmissions Disassemble equipment to remove parts and make repairs Repair, replace, adjust, and align components of equipment Test repaired equipment to verify adequacy of repairs Operate equipment and communicate/display proper operation to others Various other duties as assigned   KEY ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES: A highly energetic, self-starter with the ability to work in a fast paced environment that is deadline driven; more importantly is centered on providing quality information Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work various shifts and various weather conditions Must be willing to travel if necessary Ability to work with a high attention to detail Knowledge of equipment diagnosis and repair required Must be able to follow repair manuals and have a willingness to learn Ability to complete federally mandated and internal paperwork accurately Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week, and work a flexible schedule Frequent lifting (up to 70 lbs) Frequent bending, twisting, and standing Exposure to working outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, dust, dirt, noise)   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Experience working in or an understanding of oilfield services 2+ years equipment maintenance required, diesel and hydraulic experience preferred Diesel mechanic education/certification preferred Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record, Class A CDL preferred     This position description represents an overview of the position and is not designed to cover all duties or requirements of the role.
