What You'll Do As a Short Term Disability Claims Analyst 2, your day will be anything but routine. Here are a few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do: Acquire, analyze, and investigate medical, financial and contractual information to make effective and timely claim decisions. Connect with employers, employees and medical providers via phone, email, text, and letters. Provide customers with updates regarding medical conditions, restrictions & limitations, job duties, group short term disability policy provisions, claim decisions, status, and all other aspects of the claim process to ensure they fully understand the company's position. Supervise and follow up on outstanding items to ensure compliance with regulations, service timing, and quality guidelines. What else do you need to know? Who You Are High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of customer facing work experience. Bachelor's/Associate's degree, with 1+ years of customer facing work experience preferred. Short Term Disability Claim Processing Experience – reviewing and gathering information, making phone calls, and making the actual claim decision - at least 1 year or more of successful performance of processing Short Term Disability claims preferred. Legal and policy experience - being able to read, interpret policies, policy provisions and industry regulations to accurately interrupt and apply them to claims situations is preferred. Basic math skills. Ability to actively listen while you collect information on the telephone and provide strong customer service, providing empathy to the customers going through tough situations. Ability to accept & apply feedback. Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy, pay strict attention to detail, maintain confidentiality, and work within the grey. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, problem solving, decision-making, and multi-tasking skills. Computer skills and typing proficiency – Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel experience is preferred. Work independently as well as in a team environment. Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $18.39 - $25.48 / hour Time Off Program Personal Time Off (PTO) is provided to hourly (non-exempt) employees and provides a set amount of accrued time earned each pay period. Employees can use their PTO for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Pension Eligible Yes Additional Information Location This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements.
