As a Shuttle Bus Driver, you will safely and securely transport patients, visitors and caregivers to and from all Main Campus facilities. This role requires someone who can work with minimal management interference and continuously pushes for a positive Cleveland Clinic experience. You will be responsible for understanding the functioning of the wheelchair lift and proper attachment during the shuttle ride. Every day, your services can make a difference in the lives of innumerable patients.

A caregiver in this position works evenings from 1:30PM - 10:00PM.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Conduct friendly, courteous and helpful interactions with passengers.Provide wheelchair assistance to destination and positive hand offs with destination caregiver.Provide safe, efficient and quality shuttle transportation service as measured by driving record, compliance with established DOT regulations and Cleveland Clinic safety policies.Maintain vehicle cleanliness and situational awareness both inside/outside the shuttle at all times.Report any suspicious behavior to CCPD.Complete daily passenger vehicle safety inspections prior to placing the shuttle into operation and at the end of the shift and record deficiencies and reports prior to dispatching the vehicle. Maintain currency and effectiveness in operating wheelchair lift and associated equipment and safely secures patient and wheelchair at the wheelchair station. Be willing to occasionally work weekends or longer than above hours in emergency situations.Meet on time performance targets of established schedules and performance requirements on all established patient, visitor and employee shuttle lines.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Ability to read and write sufficientlyCommercial Driving training for purpose of safe handling of a shuttle bus with a capacity of up to 40 passengersValid State Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with air brakes and passenger endorsement with less than six points on recordMaintain eligibility of insurability as determined by CCF's insurance carrier's requirement to operate Foundation vehiclesAssume responsibility to pay fees associated with traffic violationsFive years of driving experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

High School Diploma or GEDExperience transporting passengers, patients or clients
