Our work depends on a SI&T Lead Post-Delivery Availability Engineer joining our team to support the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) activities in the Northern Virginia and Washington DC areas.

As a SI&T Lead Post-Delivery Availability Engineer supporting PEO IWS, you will be trusted to bring together a multi-disciplinary team that is geographically dispersed to provide engineering planning, design, integration, installation, and test of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) onboard ships post-construction and during maintenance availabilities. In this role, you will be responsible to lead project engineering for new construction post-shakedown availabilities.  Specific responsibilities include:

Provides technical support to the Government at the waterfront for planning, execution and troubleshooting of new equipment installations and modifications during availability periodsSupports planning conferences as the Ship Integration and Test lead for the planning and execution of Combat System work packages, SHIPALTs, ORDALTs, and Field ModificationsCoordinate with the Government for design, installation and testing of special projects to be installed on shipsMake required engineering changes on-site in order to prevent work stoppage and minimize impact to availability schedule or fundingEnsure equipment maintenance and safety envelopes are maintained during equipment installations and modificationsCoordinate equipment connection and testing. Analyze test result to ensure equipment as installed operates to designed specifications

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

A degree in Engineering or related discipline/experience is required.A US DoD Secret security clearance is required.Over Ten (10+) years of experience leading shipboard Maintenance Availabilities or as a Port EngineerOver two (2+) years direct experience in the engineering, installation and/or operation of the Aegis Combat System onboard US Navy ships or Aegis Ashore.Ability to work collaboratively as part of the larger GDIT Navy and Marine Corps SectorA demonstrated ability to work across the Navy/Marine Corps major stakeholder organizations and in particular an understanding of the relationships between NAVSEA, PEO IWS and the Fleet Commands is required to perform this role.
