SIC Tooling Technician/FT (GE BATES)

Job Title:  SIC Tooling Technician/FT (GE BATES)

Job Summary: Southern Industrial Constructors seeks Tooling Technician for an on-going site in the Batesville, MS area. This role is for an on-going assignment. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3-months.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to set-up and run manual machines such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce precision parts and tools.  Must be able to work from tooling prints, blueprints and broad general instructions where details must be determined from drawings, production parts, or product drawings involving considerable tool development and experimental work. Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of work pieces. Knowledge of CNC lathes, CNC mills and wire EDM experience is preferred but not required. Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Skilled in both written and verbal communication. Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC. Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times. Have thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of maintenance duties. Perform safety inspections of work area, equipment and tools to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC’s safety program. Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment. Perform other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Experience:

2 years machine shop experience or 2 year tool and die degree Job description.  High school diploma.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements: 

Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, freezers, and warehouses, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds Must be able to move in and around confided spaces and uneven areas Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working on ladders, and in awkward body positions
