Inframmark is hiring a Sign Technician in Opelika, AL. The position is responsible for construction, installation, and maintenance of traffic signs. The position works under general supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
Duties and responsibilities
Maintain and repair traffic signs; inspect traffic signs to identify damage and ensure readability; repair, straighten or replace bent or damaged signs or signposts.Log and maintain records or new or replaced road and street signs. Including using work order and asset management programs.Trim and clear brush around signs.Flags traffic at works sites and install traffic control devices.Ensure that work activities are conducted in compliance with applicable traffic control regulation, standards, and specifications.Operate a variety of machinery, equipment and tolls associated with work projects.Maintain vehicles, tools, equipment, and supply inventory making purchases as needed.Paint and maintain traffic markings, such as arrows or guidelines, for such areas as bike lanes, schools, or recreational areas.Attend safety classes, reinforce, and comply with company safety policiesWork harmoniously with ESG employees and the public and comply with ESG policiesQualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred. Must have a valid state driver’s license, preferably a commercial driver’s license, meet minimum driving standards.
Responsibility for the actions of others, affecting subordinate workers, customers, or others in the general public; works in a very fluid environment observing policies and guidelines.Making decisions with minor impact - affects only those in immediate work area.Working conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, bright and/or dim light, dust or pollen, intense noise levels, vibration, fumes or noxious odors. All required safety standards shall be adhered to mitigate risk from moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, heights, blood-borne pathogens, traffic, animals, and wildlife, toxic or caustic chemicals, and other identified hazards.
Physical requirements
This position requires frequent standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing. The employee must be able to use hands to operate and manipulate tools and equipment. This position requires very heavy physical exertion including the ability to lift over 50 pounds and exert over 100 pounds of force on a regular basis.
The employee must be willing to work non-standard and overtime hours as required.
The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and depth perception.
