Signal Electrician
**Job Title: Signal Electrician** **Job Description** The signal electrician will provide support and guidance to three signal technicians with the installation, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of electrical and electrical signal equipment. **Responsibilities** + Install, maintain, and operate all traffic control devices and auxiliary equipment as needed. + Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and electronic equipment. + Assist with the development, installation, inspection, and estimation of cost of new traffic signals and/or modernization of existing traffic signals. + Read and interpret blueprints/schematics. + Assist the Signals Operations Engineer with training on projects, equipment, and traffic signal software. **Essential Skills** + Journeyman Electrician's license issued by the State of Michigan. + 2+ years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical traffic control devices. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Prior experience working for a municipality or department of transportation. + Valid Michigan Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). If the candidate does not have a CDL at the time of hire, training will be provided through an accredited provider and the cost of the tuition will be covered within one year of employment. **Why Work Here?** We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a defined benefit pension. The winter schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with potential for overtime. Double shifts may be required during winter storm events. The summer schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with potential for overtime.
