This position is in south Florida, where Transdev Rail, Inc. employs a workforce of approximately 80 employees to maintain over 70 miles of track, bridges and structures, facilities and the right of way from Miami to Mangonia Park. Overview of Position:The Signalman/Signal Maintainer performs skilled work in connection with the inspection, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Signal System along the South Florida Regional Corridor. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of railroad operations. This position is represented by the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS) union, in which you will be required to become a due-paying member as soon as you become a Transdev employee. Key Responsibilities:Perform comprehensive testing of various railroad signal systems and grade crossing protection equipment at defined intervals per SFRTA and FRA reporting requirements.Conduct thorough inspections of signal circuitry, railroad, and equipment to identify and address problems and defects.Carry out maintenance, repair and replacement tasks for signal communication components and systems.Maintain written electronic records of all tests, inspections, and repairs performed.Respond to emergency conditions as required.May require on-call support outside normal work schedule.Qualifications/Experience/Education Required:Possess a valid CDL driver’s license.Must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent educational credential.Trade and/or vocational training in the electrical field is preferred.Computer literacy/proficiencyDisplay effective communication skills.Communicate effectively in English.Possess excellent verbal and written skills.Capable of working effectively both independently and in a team.
