Signal Processing Engineer

The Leidos National Security Sector has an exciting opening for a Signal Processing Engineer to support our Space Based Infrared Systems (SBIRS) PSF/SNP program office. As part of the SBIRS Program, you'll play a crucial role in system sustainment, engineering, and logistics support. Join our engineering team and provide essential communication circuit support for the SBIRS communications architecture. Your work will involve circuit audits, troubleshooting performance issues, and collaborating with stakeholders to implement solutions. You'll also work with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) personnel and service portals to support existing and establish new communication circuits.

Responsibilities:

Collect and analyze circuit data for failure trend analysis and hardware usage.

Assist the circuit support team and data owners in identifying upcoming circuit needs and developing mitigation plans.

Coordinate with DISA personnel and Space Command’s Digital Information Network (SDIN) Network Management Cell (NMC) to establish new communication circuits.

Develop and submit new circuit orders, In-effect Reports (IER), Delayed Service Reports (DSR), and Approval-to-Connect (ATC) requests using DISA’s StoreFront, TCOSS, and SNAP portals.

Serve as a liaison between DISA and data owners to resolve communication circuit issues and support the Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) Elimination efforts.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience, training, or certifications may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.

Working knowledge of serial communications circuits, including Optical Transport Networks (OTN), Multi-Service Provisioning Platform, Juniper routers, circuit-to-packet network (CTP) appliances, and type 1 HAIPE devices.

Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills with peers, senior company personnel, and military personnel/leadership.

Strong technical writing and reporting skills.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:

Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and cyber artifacts needed for circuit activation.

Familiarity with data encryption, fiber optics, and legacy data processing systems.

Familiarity with the government form 1067 system modification process.

Clearance Required:

US Citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.

Pay Range:Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
