THE WORK
Sikorsky Aircraft a Lockheed Martin Company is seeking a Procurement Supplier Quality Engineering Manager to lead the Supplier Quality organization, with a specific focus on the Blades and Avionics Product centers. The position is located in Stratford, CT but will require ~30% travel to the supply base both domestically and internationally as needed along with other Sikorsky facilities. This position will require the chosen candidate to have flexible working hours to support our customers.
The candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of Supplier Quality principles, Solumina SSQS and SAP as it relates to the job function. The Procurement Supplier Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for the overall health and compliance of the Aerostructures and Avionics product centers suppliers. The candidate must have strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action experience and the ability to personally utilize those skills, and/or manage others in timely resolution of supplier product problems/issues. Working familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems along with understanding of NADCAP.

In this role, the chosen candidate will be responsible for employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, recognition, and disciplinary actions. The candidate must be able to develop, coach, and mentor Supplier Quality Engineers to ensure versatility and high performance within the team. They will utilize established metrics to drive related organizational performance with a focus on continuous improvement. The candidate must demonstrate Full Spectrum Leadership attributes, establish effective cross-functional relationships with Quality, Sourcing, Operations, and Engineering to lead/support initiatives to drive affordability and continual operational performance improvement.

This position is accountable for the deployment of best practices and assurance of consistency for supplier selection, management of supplier risk, establishing appropriate monitoring tools and metrics (scorecards) to ensure that their products continue to meet or exceed acceptable performance thresholds in our ongoing drive towards zero defects within the RMS Sikorsky supply chain.

This position requires an individual who has demonstrated the leadership capability to manage a team of SQEs and guide the team with daily collaboration between cross functional teams across Sikorsky and the supply base. Additionally, this person will need to demonstrate the leadership capability to establish a successful comprehensive, cohesive system that drives quality maturity throughout the Sikorsky supply chain and grow suppliers as strategic product quality partners. They will also serve as the leader communicating with internal cross-functional teams supporting the assigned product centers as well as external suppliers and customers.

Basic Qualifications:
-Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, and NADCAP
- Understanding of Rotorcraft, Sikorsky models preferably.
- Familiarity with Product centers and what they produce
- Experience leading a team consisting of technical individuals with diverse backgrounds
- Procurement/Supplier Quality Engineering experience
- Program, Operations, or Quality experience
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills and working knowledge of Supplier Quality principles.
- Working knowledge of LMP2P, Solumina, SAP.
-Proven capabilities in customer relations, cross-functional teaming skills, and RCA (root cause analysis) and corrective action.

- Demonstrated ability to perform as Full Spectrum Leader
- Possesses excellent verbal/written communications and organizational skills and experience leading in a matrix management environment.
Experience with UH-60, S92 platforms
- High energy, self-starting, team player who achieves goals
- Experienced big picture thinker with proven project management skills
- Experience developing and executing innovation initiatives
- Experience in proactive supply chain/supplier risk identification and mitigation approaches.
-Previous technical and quality experience, interpreting and applying AS9100 and NADCAP requirements, utilizing existing LM Command Media (policy and procedures) and Aviation standards.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
