DuPont Cooper River currently has an opening for a Manufacturing Technician in Moncks Corner, South Carolina!

As a team member, you will join an innovative, growing company that knows people are our most valuable asset.  The individual will work as a member of a High-Performance Work System (HPWS)/empowered team in an 11 or 12-hr shift job assignment in all areas of the plant. 

Due to the growth and exciting new project phases planned in Cooper River, the shift schedule will include day and night rotating shifts, eventually transitioning to a 24/7/365 operation.  There will be times when overtime is available.

MAIN OBJECTIVES: 

In this role, you will act as the focal point for the manufacture of DuPont Molykote® at the Cooper River site. The goal of the Operator/Mechanic position is to efficiently and effectively operate and maintain the plant equipment and systems in a way that safely produces quality products, minimizes cost and protects the environment.

TASKS: 

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Meet behavior expectations in the areas of EHS, quality, productivity, and teamwork and actively participate in continuous improvement efforts.  Have a flow-to-work mentality while being disciplined, committed and solution-driven. Maintain safety standards at all times and initiate and follow emergency procedures when necessary.Perform routine and non-routine tasks as assigned, but not limited to, operating process equipment, work tasks outlined on task boards, on-shift predictive/preventive maintenance (PPM), breakdown repair and scheduled shutdown/turnaround activities. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Patrol assigned area to visually inspect, monitor equipment and process conditions to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and environmental regulations. Load and unload material to/from box trailers, tank trailers, totes and drums.Operate fork trucks and motorized equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Successful candidate will need to be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.

Willing and able to work 12 hour rotating shifts, including overtime, nights, weekends, holidays and short notice call-in as required

Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat, Nomex, protective eyewear, face shields, respirator, chemical and thermal protective equipment, etc.

Overtime is required to cover vacancies due to illness, vacation of other team members, scheduled meetings and increased production demand.

The job entails periodic heavy lifting utilizing safe ergonomic behaviors.  Individual must be capable of lifting 50 lb.

Performing general physical activities - Using arms and legs, walking, stooping, climbing ladders, handling materials.

Standing for periods of time.

Individual must possess strong interpersonal and teamwork skills capable of working in an empowered team environment.

Travel is minimal but may include:  visits to sister sites for leveraging and training, visits to customers or vendors supplying new equipment.

EDUCATION:  High School Diploma/ GED is required.

EXPERIENCE:  No manufacturing experience required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  Current and valid driver’s license
