Assures the effective and efficient operation of the Clinical Simulation Center, assesses and provides recommendations for meeting program and student needs, and oversees the operation of high and medium fidelity technology to ensure safe and effective use of the simulation equipment. The individual in this position is expected to be present and available throughout the year during the normal business hours of the CNHP and will have arranged work obligations outside of the CNHP’s normal business hours. This position collaborates with the Assistant to the Dean for Technology and Simulation and the Records and Technology Assistant. Primary Duties and Responsibilities + Develops, implements, updates, and monitors Clinical Simulation Center policies, procedures, use, and operation in collaboration with the Dean, school directors, program coordinators, faculty, and appropriate Dean’s Office staff. + Coordinates with the Assistant to the Dean for Finance and Administration on the inventory of the Clinical Simulation Center (supplies, props, etc.), ensures the storage and disposal of hazardous materials. + Monitors and schedules use, signing out, and movement of Clinical Simulation Center equipment and space. Assists with data entry for various recordkeeping. + Monitors and assures appropriate standards of Clinical Simulation Center cleanliness and collaborates with the Assistant to the Dean for Technology and Simulation and the Records and Technology Assistant regarding equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement. + Orients faculty and students in Clinical Simulation Center procedures, location and use of materials, and operation of equipment as applicable. + Responsible for business development of the Clinical Simulation Center, establishes community partnerships, develops income generated projects, seeks grant funding and other external funding sources, and formulates budget recommendations. + Prepares equipment and supplies for faculty-led simulation and experiences, assists faculty with simulation as needed, assists students during practice sessions in the Clinical Simulation Center, performs remediation with students in the skills area. + Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Mississippi required. Minimum one year of experience as a RN in a clinical setting. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities + Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing various software applications, including PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), and web-based tools.. + Skilled in operating standard office equipment and utilizing computer hardware effectively. + Strong ability to navigate and utilize internet browsers for research and communication purposes. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose clear and concise reports and correspondence. + Effective interpersonal skills, capable of interacting professionally with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders. + Proven ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences, both in person and through written formats. + Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting and applying information from various sources, including written documents, diagrams, and procedures. + Proven ability to solve practical problems and make sound decisions in complex situations. + Demonstrated proficiency in basic mathematical operations and their application to real-world scenarios. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) and experience in simulation and/or management of a clinical simulation lab. Three years of experience as a RN in a clinical setting.
