Position Summary/Description:
The simulation program coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the simulation activities of the UNC -CH School of Nursing education programs: prelicensure, MSN , DNP , and PhD, in collaboration with the Director of EISLE . The simulation program coordinator will ensure the quality and effectiveness of the simulation curriculum, faculty and staff development, and simulation resources. The simulation program coordinator will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance the simulation program and promote simulation research. The simulation program coordinator assists with simulation support in various roles and capacities including facilitation, sim ops, setup and breakdown, planning operations, and training.
Responsibilities
+ Develop, implement, and evaluate the simulation curriculum in alignment with the program objectives and accreditation standards.
+ Schedule simulation events for semester in collaboration with course coordinators, faculty, and EISLE team.
+ Provide leadership and mentorship to the simulation faculty and staff and facilitate their professional development in simulation pedagogy and technology.
+ Manage the simulation budget, resources, and equipment, and ensure their optimal utilization and maintenance in collaboration with Assistant Director and Director of EISLE .
+ Foster a culture of innovation and excellence in simulation, and support simulation research and scholarship activities.
+ Build and sustain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, such as clinical sites, other UNC health professions schools, professional organizations, and simulation vendors.
Education and Experience:
+ Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator ( CHSE ) and Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator Advanced ( CHSE -A).
+ Working knowledge of extended reality (XR) [includes but is not limited to, augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and virtual reality] technologies.
+ Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in applying the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning ( INACSL ) Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice, Society for Simulation in Healthcare – Healthcare Simulationists Code of Ethics, and The Association of Standardized Patient Educators ( ASPE ) Standards of Best Practice.
+ Working knowledge of integration of standardized patients into simulation activities preferred
+ Experience in simulation working with healthcare task trainers and manikins.
+ Experience with delivering training, preferably in a healthcare-related field.
+ Basic understanding of research techniques and principles is preferred.
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively manage several projects, detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and previous experience working with diverse populations.
+ Experience using electronic healthcare records.
Essential Skills:
Unencumbered nursing licensure with eligibility in North Carolina
