Position: Simulation Specialist - Nursing Education Program Employer: University of Maine at Augusta The University of Maine at Augusta is seeking a dedicated Simulation Specialist for its Nursing Education Program. This full-time position plays a crucial role in advancing our Clinical Simulation Program and integrating cutting-edge technologies into nursing education. Responsibilities + Development and Growth of Simulation Program: Collaborate with faculty to enhance the Clinical Simulation Program, ensuring alignment with the Nursing Education Program's strategic goals. + Support for Emerging Technologies: Stay abreast of and implement new technologies relevant to nursing education, contributing to program innovation. + Equipment Management: Maintain and troubleshoot simulation equipment and audio-visual systems to ensure operational readiness. + Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to faculty and students on simulation modalities and associated software. + Collaboration and Coordination: Coordinate simulation activities, schedules, and resources effectively to support educational objectives. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment. + Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively. + Proficiency in computer and technical equipment, including simulation and audio-visual systems. + Strong organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities concurrently. Required Qualifications + Associate's degree. + Minimum of one to two years of experience in various simulation modalities (e.g., mannequin, audio-visual streaming). + Experience maintaining and troubleshooting simulation software and hardware. Licenses/Certifications + Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) Certification or willingness to obtain within three years of hire. Preferred Qualifications + Bachelor's degree. + Experience in a health professional clinical laboratory or simulation center. + Proficiency in IT networking, programming, audio-visual systems, or IT support. + Experience in higher education and simulation environments. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm with evenings and weekends as needed.
