What we want The Simulation Technology Coordinator ensures the operational readiness and maintenance of all simulation technology, equipment, and systems for the assigned Clinical Learning Resource Center site. This role supports a team of simulation professionals to ensure that high-fidelity experiential learning opportunities for clinical students are meaningful and professional. The Simulation Technology Coordinator performs scheduled maintenance, repair, replacement, orientation, and troubleshooting to ensure the full functionality of all simulation equipment software and hardware. Required Education and Experience: + Associates degree in nursing, EMS, or other health care related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience + 1 year of experience in nursing, EMT/Paramedic, patient care technician other related healthcare field Required Licenses and Certifications: + Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) or ability to obtain within 3 years of experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Strong understanding of computer technology and IT systems + Technical ability to minimally troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems or computer networks + Understanding of medical equipment operations and ability to troubleshoot issues + Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of computer software platforms, including mobile technology + Ability to operate audio and video equipment and recording systems + Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others + Ability to organize a large quantity of supplies and/or equipment Preferred Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in medical and healthcare simulation or related field + Medical terminology and Anatomy/Physiology courses completed + Medical education such as EMT/Paramedic, nursing, surgical tech, nurse aid, telemetry tech, or related areas + 2 or more years of experience in patient care within a healthcare system + 3 years of experience in simulation or medical education + 3 years of experience in events management or project management + Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems such as in an advanced patient simulator + Experience with studio makeup or moulage techniques + Background in biomedical and electrical applications + Experience with augmented, virtual, and mixed reality environments, software, and hardware + Experience with inventory systems and inventory management + Certification as an American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, or PALS instructor + Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialists (CHSOS) or CHSOS-A + Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or CHSE-A + Current (within last 5 years) healthcare certification or license + Project Management Professional (PMP) Responsibilities: Education Events + Prepares and facilitates CLRC medical simulation mannequins for high-fidelity clinical learning experiences. + Orients and trains others on capabilities and operations of equipment and simulation methodologies. + Assists with setup and tear down of supplies and equipment for simulated learning experiences. + Works with the CLRC leadership team to schedule, coordinate, and support a variety of CLRC events. + Performs other duties as assigned in support of simulation events. Maintenance and Technology Duties + Completes required TAMU, IT, and vendor required updates for CLRC owned computers, systems, and simulation technology. + Keeps all simulation systems operational and either repairs or works with the Simulation Technology Specialist to facilitate repairs or replacement. + Lifts, moves, and stores mannequins and other hardware as required to perform responsibilities. + Coordinates, schedules, and provides individual and group training sessions for faculty and staff on various topics related to technologies used for human patient simulation and various clinical simulation technologies within their respective CLRC site. + Serves as the site liaison for simulation technology vendors and works with the Simulation Technology Specialist, Site manager, and Director to provide new technology recommendations or procure new systems. Networking + Networks with other simulationists and other departments to collaborate on projects as assigned.
