Position Summary POSITION WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Developing, implementing and evaluating protocols and policies related to simulation and learning lab operations under the direction of and in collaboration with the Director of the Simulation and Clinical Learning Laboratory; Implementing simulation lab activities for scheduled and open lab training sessions for students and/or faculty; Technical development and composition of Sim teaching/learning/evaluating scenarios using Laerdal, CAE, and or similar software; Providing daily operation, maintenance and upgrade for clinical and simulation equipment; Providing Anatomage Table training, operation, maintenance and upgrades; Maintaining sim and lab inventory; requiring a high degree of autonomy and independent judgment; requiring excellent interpersonal skills to work with faculty, staff and students in simulation experiences. OTHER JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: In collaboration with the Director of the Simulation and Clinical Learning Laboratory, schedule regular site visits with external vendors for troubleshooting and regular equipment maintenance and updates. Maintain a current, complete, and accurate inventory of all clinical laboratory equipment and supplies. Assist with the regular purchasing and documentation of all simulation equipment and lab supplies, in collaboration with lab faculty and the Director of the Simulation and Clinical Learning Laboratory. Facilitate training sessions to ensure that faculty members are knowledgeable to provide basic operation of all clinical equipment. Collect and analyze data related to simulation usage and evaluation. In collaboration with the Director of the Simulation and Clinical Learning Laboratory, submit annual outcome and evaluation reports to the Dean for analysis. Operate both simulators and AV recording equipment during student learning and faculty training scenarios. Maintain open simulation lab time where students and faculty can engage in real-time simulation scenarios, debrief sessions, anatomy training, and virtual simulation training programs (i.e., equipment and software products from companies such as Laerdal, Gaumard, Oxford Medical). Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, Nursing, or Healthcare disciplines, etc.) or Associate Degree with an equivalent combination of education/experience/certification in clinical simulation and/or information technology; Accomplished using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware/software issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates Preferred Qualifications Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist® (CHSOS®) certification; At least 1 year experience with health-related learning technology/simulation; Experience with video capture and learning management systems (LMS) software package (e.g., B-Line, Canvas); Experience in higher education; Relevant clinical experience and or/medical knowledge. Essential Tasks Manage maintenance and operations of simulators including software updates, cleaning, and correlating accessories Provide daily operation, maintenance and upgrade for clinical and simulation equipment Assist faculty in the technical development and composition of simulation scenarios using SCENE equipment and software Update the Director on status changes and equipment concerns Perform operational checks during simulation setup and prior to simulation activities In collaboration with the Director, schedule regular site visits with external vendors for troubleshooting and regular equipment maintenance and updates Lead routine maintenance and upgrades for clinical and simulation equipment Percentage Of Time 10% Key Responsibility Training responsibilities that expand the knowledge and skill of faculty, students, and other SCENE stakeholders. Essential Tasks Provide Anatomage Table training and facilitate faculty practice to develop skillful use Train faculty, simulation educators, and other select stakeholders in the use of manikin, task trainers, the LMS/AV system B-Line and other equipment Percentage Of Time 30% Key Responsibility Support simulation learning activities directly to enable achievement of simulation learning outcomes; participate in all phases of the simulation activity processes. Essential Tasks Participate in the planning of simulation activities, including identification of resources, equipment, and disposable supplies; Assist in the setup and breakdown of spaces for simulation activities, including manikins, medical equipment, supplies, and technology (computers, headsets, microphones, walkie-talkies); Operate simulators and AV equipment during simulation scenarios to ensure integrity, consistency, and effectiveness of the simulation experience; Maintain open simulation lab time where students and faculty can engage in real time simulation scenarios, debrief sessions, anatomy training, and virtual simulation training; Other duties as assigned ADA Checklist ADA Checklist
