Job Title: Simulator Technician III

Reports to: Technical Manager of CAE Kuala Lumpur / dotted reporting line to CAE KL’s FSR

Based at: Lion Air Training Center

Job purpose:

To maintain Full Flight Simulator Devices in good working condition at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Carry out and possibly supervise all preventive and corrective maintenance actions, as detailed in the CAE quality documents, to achieve required availability and reliability on one or more flight training devices.Will be part of a dynamic team of technical staff that will be accountable to meet a pre-defined set of technical measurement criteria for simulator performance (reporting metrics), ex down time, lost time, customer reliability etc.Be prepared to work rotating shifts and weekends.In depth knowledge of QTG reading, interpretation and understanding.Brief and debrief customers in a professional manner on a regular basis.Provides technical advice to customersMaintains an excellent relationship with any and all regulatory agencies.Recommends and develops new procedures for testing, maintenance or repairTrains and mentors more junior staffLiaises with Sim Technicians for other maintenance related matters.Trains Sim Technicians on running QTGs.Manages spare and inventory.Ensuring consumable items are kept in stock and adequate.Maintaining a proper technical documentation.Taking the lead during evaluations, audits and qualifications of devices and processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

Technical University/College Diploma in electronics or aviation.Excellent knowledge of the English language, read, spoken and writtenHighly Customer oriented and must be able to deal tactfully in sensitive situations.Advanced understanding of aircraft terminology or simulation devicesAdvanced understanding of aviation training business.Able to interpret schematics and other technical documents pertaining to aviationAdvanced computer skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.Must possess superior troubleshooting skills as well as having in depth knowledge of how to use electronic test equipment as well as how to use advanced software diagnostic utilities.Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems.Basic knowledge of avionics systems.
