JOB SUMMARY:

The principle responsibility of the Simulator Technician is to ensure item completeness, accuracy, and conformance with designs, standards, and specifications. The preferred candidate is a highly motivated, self-driven team player who can perform complex mechanical and basic electrical tasks and can perform effectively in a dynamic production environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assemble/install simulator chassis, frames, panels, mechanical assemblies/sub-assemblies, electro-mechanical assemblies/sub-assemblies, cables, systems, etc., external to and within simulators, per engineering drawings, parts lists, and work orders.Install, test, troubleshoot simulator mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.Read engineering blueprints and perform assembly in a build to print environment.Recommend system/document improvement.Assist engineers with system commissioning.Generate discrepancy and status reports and correct discrepancies.Support simulator teardown and install at customer sites worldwide.Communicate issue mitigation options and recommendations.Provide maintenance and technical support for simulators in training.Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.Associates degree preferred.Minimum of 2 years’ experience with subassembly and installation of mechanical assemblies required.AP/Auto mechanic experience preferred.Machining experience preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred knowledge of flight simulator systems, components, and installation methods.Basic computer skills.Advanced operation of hand and power tools (drills, grinders, punches, measurement instruments).Read and understand assembly drawings, parts lists, wire lists and system prints.Lift up to 50lbs with assistance.Install, test, and maintain components located in tight locations within the simulator.Work both independently and in a team environment as needed.Obtain certification and operate forklift.Must be flexible to work all required shifts and travel up to 50% of the time, including international travel, as needed.Must have strong communication skills (written and oral).Ability to obtain a security clearance required.
