The SIS Specialist must have a familiarization with process type control instrumentation in a general way and understand electronic theory and digital logic system. Must be capable of instructing maintenance personnel in troubleshooting techniques and maintenance procedures. Additionally, the following skills are required or developed as the job responsibilities progress: **Responsibilities** + Assist SIS Coordinator in the IPS life cycle management + Participates in HAZOP/LOPAs, PSSR’s and MOC’s + Development of Safety Instrumented System (SIS) and Mechanical Integrity Covered Equipment (MICE) PM’s + Develop, coordinate, and implement plans and processes to ensure preventative maintenance testing is completed successfully on time + Develop IPS testing schedule (day to day and outages) + Coordinate and supervise IPS proof testing as needed (day to day and outages) + IPS testing auditing – Review all IPS testing schedules for compliance + IPS test tracking and reporting – Submit monthly KPI reports for IPS testing and update test tracking charts **Responsibilities (continued)** + Troubleshoot and lead failure analysis on instrumented equipment and recommend corrective or preventive measures + Perform factory acceptance tests of instrumented systems at vendors shop + Interfere with unit engineers and operational personnel on conceptual design for specific project premise + Commission instrumented systems during scheduled outages + Participate in project lessons learned gathering sessions + Provide technical consultations to contract engineering firms and project engineers concerning modifications to the SIS systems and plant process field equipment **Required Qualifications** + Minimum of an associate's degree in Instrument or Electrical/Electronic Technology + At least 10 years of experience in online process control systems + Knowledge of Management of Change (MOC) and Process Safety Management (PSM) + Proven knowledge of Delta V Distributive Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) including Modicon and Triconex PLCs + Working knowledge of ANSI/ISA-S84.00.01 – Application of Safety Instrumented Systems for the Process Industries **Preferred Qualifications** + Familiarization with process control instrumentation + Working knowledge of SAP Chevron Phillips Chemical offers competitive salaries, a comprehensive benefits package and at most locations, alternate work schedules.
