HDR is currently seeking a Site Civil Engineer for our Building Engineering Services Business Group located in Missouri in either our Kansas City or St. Louis office. Our team is an integrated facility and infrastructure design team consisting of core services of Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and Site Civil Engineering. This person will be part of an integrated team responsible for the design of facilities related sites in support of a variety of markets including Healthcare, Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, Federal and Mission Critical buildings and infrastructure. They will be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration. Experience in site development and the design of building related site civil (grading, utilities, storm drainage, stormwater management, and erosion control) is preferred. This individual should be self-motivated, collaborative and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound civil site designs.Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Site Civil Engineer we'll count on you to:Design and plan production for general civil on a wide variety of projects, including site layouts, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activitiesPerform quantity calculationsPrepare specifications and contract documentsInterface with Jurisdictional Authorities conduct permitting reviewsPerform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and proceduresMake decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as neededFunction as Project Manager or Project Engineer as neededOversee work of other professionals and technicians as neededPrepare/Review civil engineering scope of work and budgets/estimates for proposalsEstablish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule Perform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsStrong operating knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3DProficiency in modeling software such as Hydraflow Storm Sewers, Hydraflow Hydrographs, HydroCAD, Bentley StormCAD or similar softwarePrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desiredPreference given to local candidates Previous project management experience4 years civil engineering experience across the full spectrum of site civil design including site selection, due diligence, master planning, site design; including demolition plans, grading and drainage design, utility design, and civil detailsBS degree in Civil Engineering

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degreePrevious experience in general civil engineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license. Demonstrated leadership and communication skillsAptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications in Civil Engineering such as InRoads, Siteworks, Hecras, etcProficient with Microsoft OfficeGood verbal and written communication skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
