Purpose Statement

· Manages a $10 million P&L and facility located in Queens and serving over 300 DSD customers.
· Responsible for maintaining the plant's equipment, buildings, facilities, capital plan, and people strategy.
· Owns the strategic plan for the plant and associated sales goals.
· Collaborates with the sales function and the CBU to rapidly grow our TCCS business.
· Provide strong leadership and direction to Route Sales Supervisors to grow YOY sales and cost-effectiveness in all aspects of DSD operations for the NYC territory.
· Provide direction for sales, marketing, merchandising, and customer service to our existing accounts within your assigned territory. Work in partnership with the Regional Sales Manager.
· Serve as a member of the divisional leadership team.
· Operationally interfaces with distribution partners, 3PL’s, and ESO partners to ensure performance and service expectations as first line of managerial communication.
· Responsible for supervising all aspects of plant operations, guaranteeing the secure, sanitary, cost-effective, and efficient transformation of raw materials into top-notch finished products. Furthermore, the Operations Manager will partner with diverse leaders to create and execute business strategies, while actively participating in the formulation of the plant's overarching strategic plans.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

· Manage successful recruitment, training, and coaching to retain strong Route Sales Representatives.
· Optimize and add routes in assigned territories. Oversee merchandising and rollouts to new customers working with Account Managers.
· Work closely with operations sales team members and manufacturing to provide sales, marketing, and merchandising information, direction, and priorities for day-to-day activities and future planning.
· Develop relationships and work closely with the CS&L team and outside distribution to ensure optimal product flow and inventory, and shuttle operations.
· Work with the National Asset Manager to effectively manage and maintain fleet trucks and freezers within the assigned territory.
· Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with chain operations personnel to increase distribution points, execute market-wide and targeted promotional activities, and improve customer relations and problem resolution.
· Utilize and Analyze data to formulate action plans to optimize resources to achieve or exceed revenue goals.
· Prepare and present proposals for improving distribution, space, sales, and service.
· Assist in the forecasting and rollout of new items, holiday products, and everyday business.
· Ensure that all products are sold into all accounts, as appropriate, and that pricing strategies, including promotional pricing, are implemented accurately.
· Develops, implements and communicates short-term and mid-term (1 - 2 years) business plans for operations, ensuring associates understand the link to the plant’s, divisions and the corporation’s business plan priorities and understand their role in accomplishing these plans.
· Assists in establishing the longer-term strategic plans for the plant.
· Mentors and motivates associates, providing training and development to optimize their performance and personal growth. Communicates performance standards to associates, recognizing and rewarding individual and team accomplishments and counseling performance problems. Ensures all associates have the resources and capabilities to effectively accomplish their responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

·  High School/GED required (Preferred BA/BS degree in Business, Supply Chain Operations, Food Science, Engineering or related field.)
· 5 years of supervisory experience in a food-processing, pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing organization. DSD experience is preferred.
· Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation processes/procedures and HACCP.
· Demonstrated understanding of production scheduling and other production variables such as run-rates, processing times, change-over times, etc.
· Demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety, OSHA standards, product quality (success rates), throughput delivery and cost control (minimizing downtime and waste, optimizing yield)
· Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train associates as well as plan, monitor and schedule work.
· Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
· Demonstrated ability to formulate and understand complex mathematical equations.
· Proficient using Excel or other spreadsheet software.
 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Drive while adhering to traffic laws and DOT regulations.
• Maintain DOT medical certification.
• Extended periods of standing and sitting daily.
• Extended walking between truck-to-store merchandising trips.
• Regularly enter and exit Company vehicle daily (approximately 4 ft above ground to truck cab and/or cargo box); utilize proper Three-Points of Contact process when climbing ladders/stairs.
• Lifting not to exceed 55 pounds: required on a routine basis.
• Transport products at customer locations, navigating parking lots, sidewalks, ramps, etc., using carts or hand trucks, while being mindful of vehicle traffic and powered industrial trucks operated by others inside customer locations.
• Periodically parking along city streets. 
• Frequent bending, twisting, turning, squatting, and kneeling while moving and merchandising product. 
• Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
• Frequent handling of frozen product and exposure to refrigerated walk-in truck/storage temperatures below 0 degrees. 
• Company provided uniform and safety shoes (certified safety toe and slip resistant) required.
• Pushing product carts (up to 450 pounds fully loaded). 
• Able to maintain alertness and work long hours that typically start in the early AM.

This position interacts with all internal customers as well as with WHQ Functions including Safety, Engineering, R&D, QA, Finance, and Customer Logistics customers. External customers include hundreds of businesses within the greater NYC area.

 

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

 

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$110,160.00 - $165,240.00
