Y-12 Site Operations Senior Advisor reports directly to the Senior Director and provides subject matter expertise and technical guidance/direction to the division. The Y-12 Site Operations Senior Advisor will be responsible for the integration and optimization of scope, schedule, Accountable Control Baseline (ACB), quality, and risks across the Division. The Senior Advisor will assist in logically and systematically evaluating programs and process problems to determine appropriate solutions. The Advisor will support and interface with internal and external stakeholders to set priorities, resolve issues and facilitate the activities of managers and technical personnel to ensure mission deliverable commitments.
Accountable to the Y-12 Site Operations Senior Director and responsible for:
The Advisor’s primary duty is the performance of Division operational alignment and technical process flow directly related to optimization and continuous improvement and must work independently to accomplish these goals Responsible for the creation of program and policy documents to ensure standardization across Y-12 site operations Influences all levels of technical, managerial, and executive-level employees as well as extensive interaction with technical experts externally and within the DOE complex Communicates and coordinates information sharing across the DOE complex Advises verification/validation of the asset management strategies and applicability on Production Equipment and Process Systems as required by DOE 422.1 for nuclear facilities The authority to formulate, affect, interpret, or implement management policies or operating practices Execute major assignments related to the operation of the DivisionWhat You Can Expect Meaningful work and unique opportunities to support missions vital to national and global security Top-notch, dedicated colleagues Generous pay and benefits with a stable organization Career advancement and professional development programs Work-life balance fostered through flexible work options and wellness initiatives Minimum Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree: Minimum 12 years of relevant experience; typical experience 15+ years OR Master’s degree: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience; typical experience 15+ years OR PhD: Minimum 6 years of experience In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science and 4 years nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
