About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Permit Coordinator to join our construction team. As a Permit Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe execution of tasks on The MMF Project by managing, auditing, and monitoring the permit to work system.
Here’s What You’ll Need 

Your primary responsibility will be to maintain a comprehensive register of permit acceptors and isolating authorities, while upholding compliance with both company and client procedures and processes.
You will also be responsible for initiating site audits to ensure adherence to the safe system of work, as well as maintaining a streamlined process for tracking and closing valid work permits upon completion of tasks.

Further Responsibilities\:

•    Maintain an accurate and up-to-date register of permit acceptors and isolating authorities. Facilitate the issuing of permits to authorised personnel and ensure the proper documentation of permit-related information.
•    Regularly audit and monitor the permit to work system to ensure strict compliance with company policies, as well as regulatory and client requirements.
•    Partake in audits to evaluate the implementation of the safe system of work. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify potential hazards, assess risk levels, and ensure that all tasks are being executed in accordance with approved permits.
•    Work with project managers, supervisors, and safety officers to ensure that all work activities are conducted in accordance with the approved permits. Provide guidance and support to address any non-compliance issues promptly.
•    Help in maintaining an organised system for tracking valid work permits, including their issuing, extensions, and any associated changes. Ensure that permits are closed promptly and accurately upon the completion of tasks.
•    Facilitate effective communication among project teams, permit acceptors, isolating authorities, and relevant stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of permit requirements and safety protocols.
•    Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all permit-related activities, including permit issuance, extensions, closures, and audits. Generate reports and summaries as required for management review.

Essential

•    In-depth knowledge of permit to work systems, safety regulations, and industry best practices (preferable in the Nuclear industry).
•    Good understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
•    Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
•    Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with diverse teams.
•    Proficiency in using permit management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
•    Additional relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) will be advantageous.
•    Previous experience track record of successful permit management and compliance oversight.
