**DESCRIPTION**
**Job Summary:**
The Quality Engineer role at the Upfit Center in De Pere, WI, requires an essential on-site presence to ensure the highest standards of manufacturing quality, encompassing both customer and supplier quality aspects. This position focuses on improving Right First Time (RFT) and Build Integrity Score (BIS) metrics. The Quality Engineer will interface with various functions to resolve quality issues and lead project management teams dedicated to problem resolution. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with quality standards such as ISO-9001 and specific customer requirements, as well as leading and supporting change management activities and quality audits. Additionally, the role involves coaching and mentoring less experienced team members in quality practices, assisting in problem identification, conducting root cause analysis, and documenting corrective actions. Familiarity with De Pere products, including Power Generation, Fire Pumps, and Rail, is a plus.
**In this role you will make an impact in the following ways:**
**Customer Issue Management:** Responsible for managing systems related to plant customer issues, including corrective requests and leading containment activities.
**Quality Assurance:** Ensure that products and processes meet both initial and long-term quality standards, including IATF, customer-specific requirements, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Product Parts Approval Process (PPAP) documentation submissions.
**Change Management:** Lead and support change management activities for current products and Value Package Introduction (VPI). Verify products and processes to ensure key measures are met and analyze data to support decision-making.
**Quality Audits:** Support and/or lead quality audits, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
**Technical Resource:** Serve as a quality technical resource to other functional areas, providing guidance and expertise.
**Coaching and Mentoring:** Coach and mentor less experienced team members in quality practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
**Continuous Improvement:** Lead the prioritization of continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional business partners, utilizing proven methodologies such as lean manufacturing, 7-step problem solving, and Intelligent Quality Tools and Methods (IQTM).
**Core Tools Application:** Apply a basic understanding of Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) core tools in daily operations.
**Safe Launch Initiatives:** Lead and/or support Safe Launch initiatives through VPI to ensure successful product introductions.

+ Proficient in analyzing measurement processes across the traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty in various applied measurement sciences (e.g., Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Radiation, and Physical).
**Problem Solving:**
+ Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to mentor others in systematic analysis processes. Utilizes industry-standard methodologies to create problem traceability, determine assignable causes, implement robust data-driven solutions, and identify systemic root causes to prevent recurrence.

Preferably 3-5 years’ experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Program Management role in the automotive industry or a similarly regulated industry. Minimum of 2 years of related manufacturing or quality experience required.
