What you will do...

Primary Role

The Site Reliability Engineer will manage laboratory network assets for development and testing efforts.

 

Key Functions

Maintain Development LAN services including Jira, GitLab, and NexusManage user accounts across Linux-based DevLANMaintain, update, and secure services running on DevLANCreate scripts to assist with system/network administrationEnsure periodic backups are being performed correctlyEnforce network and system security practicesPerform periodic updates to Linux distroManage lab resources across multiple different projects and changing prioritiesWork with developers to ensure clear tasking to achieve project goalsEnsure approved RMF procedures are being complied withMaintain CICD pipeline process and artifacts Skills you will need...

Required Education/Experience

Associates degree5+ years’ experience in Linux system and system administration

Desired Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree10+ years’ experience in Linux system and system administration

Required Skills

Strong planning and organizational skillsScripting using Bash, Python, etc.Ability to manage GitLab, Jira, Nexus, and CICD pipeline practicesExperience with Git repositories and GitLabExperience with Podman, Docker, Docker compose, and Docker registriesDemonstrated ability to understand enterprise level systemsDemonstrated ability to shift from one project to another in a dynamic work environment

Desired Skills

Strong problem-solving skillsCompetence in software and system design, management, and sustainmentFamiliarity with SQL and database design and sustainmentFamiliarity with Nginx and proxiesManagement of Virtual Machines, VM Ware, Proxmox and Virtual BoxAutomation and Scripting skills including Ansible AutomationCloud implementation knowledgeGood understanding of RMF compliance process and implementationStrong motivation to expand knowledge and skillsAbility to approach classical problems with new ideas and innovation

Travel

This position will require overnight travel up to 10 percent of the time. Trip durations may range from overnight to several weeks.

Clearance

Only candidates who currently possess an active Top Secret / SCI clearance will be considered. Must have ability to get Special Access. Applicants for positions which require DoD security clearance must meet eligibility requirements to include US citizenship.
