Site Reliability Engineer

DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Configure, maintain, monitor, and optimize applications and their associated infrastructure to independently decompose and iteratively improve on existing solutions. Perform end-to-end operations, availability, reliability, and scalability of application or platform. Leverage technology to solve business problems by writing high quality, maintainable, and robust code following best practices in software engineering. Participate in triaging, examining, diagnosing, and resolving incidents and work with others to solve problems at their root. Proactively works towards eliminating it through either systems engineering or updating application code. Implement and improve service level indicators, objectives monitoring, and alerting solutions for optimal transparency and analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Engineering Management, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as a Site Reliability Engineer, AWS Cloud Engineer Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Management, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as a Site Reliability Engineer, AWS Cloud Engineer Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Demonstrated knowledge in at least one programming language including Python, Java, Spring Boot, or .Net. Experience developing software applications using technical processes within a given technical discipline including Cloud. Experience in observability with service level objective alerting; telemetry collection using tools including Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, and Splunk. Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools including Jenkins, GitLab, or Terraform. Demonstrate knowledge with container and container orchestration including ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
