Vacancy Overview Site Safety Advisor – Port Arthur, TX
Our client is seeking a Site Safety Advisor to work within their facilities located in Port Arthur, TX, for a 12-month assignment.

The primary objective of this position is to provide environmental, health and safety (EHS) expertise and support for Sempra Port Arthur LNG Project. The EHS Advisor will assist in developing, implementing and maintaining environmental, health and safety programs for the project on site. EHS Advisor will also perform field oversight of company and contractor monitoring activity in compliance with federal, state, local, and contractual health safety requirements.

Job Responsibilities: Coordinate with company operations management, project managers, construction managers, and contractor representatives on issues of EHS programs, compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, and overall project EHS. Monitor contractors and subcontractors for compliance with health and safety regulations and project guidelines. Review contractor EHS plans, programs, and other documentation to ensure consistency with contract terms and conditions, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Identify issues that could impact the project from an EHS compliance perspective and coordinate with project management to develop strategies to address and resolve these issues. Perform inspections, accident/incident investigations, track safety performance statistics, and prepare reports as required. Develop and implement policies, procedures, programs and manuals related to company EHS needs and requirements to ensure the safety of company employees, compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements, and consistency with best management practices. Participate in or lead in the development and delivery of safety training for company employees. Interface with regulatory agency representatives and assist in making any required reports or notices to regulatory agencies. Uses business applications software and peripheral equipment (e.g., complex databases, advanced presentation graphics, detailed spreadsheets using original formulas, operates fax machines, copy machines, etc.). Plans or schedules own work; coordinates and/or takes lead responsibility on special projects requiring advanced skills; may provide work direction for clerical group; may review work of others; may train others Composes correspondence and reports for supervisor’s signature; research, abstracts and compiles information and data for analyses; reviews written material for accuracy and completeness; checks calculations for accuracy; reconciles report data; maintains complex accounting ledgers, petty cash funds, inventory, etc. Performs other duties as assigned. Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related field of study. Five years of Environmental and safety program management and construction.
