Site Safety Coordinator

Our client, a leader in the industrial material handling field, is looking for a Site Safety Coordinator to join their team on a contract basis in the Burnaby area

Description

Job Specific Responsibilities:

•\tProvide site safety orientation training and other site required training.

•\tGathering/managing training certifications for employees and contractors onsite

•\tMake sure project compliance with applicable local HS regulations and laws.

•\tCommunication with installation site management/supervision on EHS issues daily.

•\tParticipate in project meetings and address safety issues discussed in the meeting.

•\tReport to site supervisor safety deviations from other trades and/or customer employees that could represent a risk of injury to client personnel.

•\tPerform daily walk through (several times a day).

•\tPerform safety observations and audits

•\tInspect site emergency response equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, etc.) as scheduled.

•\tAssist site supervisor and workers in conducting risk assessments for the job.

•\tAssist site supervisor with conducting incident investigations.

•\tUpload safety audits and incident investigation into Gensuite.

•\tFollow up to closure of safety corrective actions resulted from safety audits and incidents.

•\tConducts and/or assists Site Supervisor in daily safety toolbox talks to crews and weekly safety talks.

•\tMaintain EHS forms available onsite and keep EHS site board updated and in good condition.

•\tAssist with maintaining project trailer cleanliness and proper waste disposal.

•\tAdminister first aid as needed or seek medical assistance for all injuries.

•\tAssist site supervisor with updating timesheets for mechanical installation crew and sending to approving manager at end of week.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

MUST HAVE 1: 3+ years of experience as EHS coordinator in construction or manufacturing

MUST HAVE 2: Experience leading or performing incident investigation, preventative action, and filling out supporting documentation

MUST HAVE 3: Experience working with overhead cranes

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.00
