We are looking for a Safety Officer to join our team in Rhode Island.  Are you passionate about ensuring a safe work environment for the entire project team? To help the team think pro-actively so that we can provide a safe place to work?  Are you committed to working hand-in-hand with our project supers and project managers to enforce our company policy as well as the OSHA safety regulations and policies?

Responsibilities Provide structure around site safety with superintendent and subcontractorsRaise awareness of potential hazards that exist on a jobsite with owner by reviewing what can be done to minimize riskConduct regular safety audits throughout the duration of a project assessing all safety related issues and follow up with the project teamAssist subcontractors with site safety needs via tool box talks, safety check lists, job hazard analysis, etc.Communicate directly with subcontractors to discuss concerns and Shawmut's expectationsMaintain the information technology and systems that are essential to capture and analyze key data, present reporting and communicate effectivelyDevelop and maintaining strong relationships with every member of the project team, subcontractors and clientsConduct new hire safety orientations Qualifications Extensive knowledge of OSHA construction standardsBachelor’s Degree in Safety or related experience preferredWork requires frequent travelPrior safety or construction related internship a plus as well as working on a CCIP projectMust reside in the southern New England area and flexible with required business travel
