Site Safety Specialist (SSS)

Wage: $40.00 - $52.00/ hour 

Essential Function:

Instruct security officers, supervisors, and other employees on safety and compliance with legal and company-mandated training requirements. Deliver various training courses, including new employee orientation, on-the-job training, health and safety practices, customer service techniques, supervisory development, and security practices. Demonstrate ownership by adhering to safety and security standards, policies, and best practices at the site. Follow established training policies and schedules; coordinate training activities to align with client service schedules. Utilize appropriate instructional methods, including individual training, group instruction, self-study, lectures, demonstrations, simulations, role-playing, and computer-based training. Distribute training manuals, administer tests and evaluations, and coordinate educational materials such as multimedia aids and reference libraries. Maintain knowledge of local safety and health regulations, understanding regional requirements, and uphold ISO, OSHA, or ICS certification as needed. Implement health and safety programs at the site level, including site metrics, regulatory documentation, H&S audits, risk assessments, safety training, incident investigations, and ergonomic evaluations. Investigate employee safety concerns in collaboration with the Data Center Health and Safety Manager and report deficiencies as necessary. Coordinate emergency response efforts, recruit and train Active Client Emergency Response Team (ALERT) members, and facilitate emergency practice sessions. Conduct incident investigations and prepare reports for the appropriate parties. Promote a safety culture by deploying awareness training and maintaining site EHS metrics for distribution as required. Collaborate with security, data center operations, and engineering teams to monitor standards and regulations. Process documents and provide periodic reports to program management teams to identify hidden risks or nonconformity issues. Conduct regular audits and inspections and submit findings in a timely manner. Track and report progress on corrective and preventative actions arising from monitoring activities and incidents. Ensure sites have easy access to EHS documentation, such as Safety Data Sheets and evacuation maps. Schedule and facilitate meetings and webinars using provided technology to disseminate gathered information. Maintain a client-service approach to problem-solving and communication.

Qualifications:

Experience in auditing and managing occupational safety programs is required. Excellent communication and written skills. Ability to self-motivate within an existing framework; project management experience is a plus. Strong collaboration skills to support multiple work groups.
