JOB SUMMARY
The Safety Specialist supports development and monitoring of the Company safety programs to minimize and eliminate events caused by unsafe acts. This position is responsible for working with all employment levels to identify, analyze, and resolve safety issues, and to address differences between the company safety programs and local, client site programs.

In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.Conduct site safety assessments for new contracts, or whenever new requests for service provision are submitted by the client. Develop and assist in the implementation of the client’s site safety program as related to officer assigned roles and responsibilities, and Securitas site specific safety programs including the site specific Injury Illness Prevention Program and Heat Illness Prevention Program and Post Orders Assist in development and implementation of safety training programs for Securitas employees Assist with accident and injury investigation, to include: determination of root cause, OSHA classification/recordability, safety precautions to prevent future similar incidents and to work with client to address and remove identified safety concerns in the workplace as related to officer assigned roles and responsibilities Conduct site visits for the purpose of safety field observations. Interact with the security force in a manner which enhances and improves safety performance, morale and skills. Enforce and comply with all Securitas policies, Federal & State Regulations, and Client programs Assist in resolving safety concerns in a competent and responsive manner to foster and create a Safety Conscious Work Environment supportive of positive, honest, and open exchange of ideas and differing opinions Assist with the development of Company safety goals Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY

MINIMUM HIRING STANDARDS
Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., pager or phone). Must have a reliable means of transportation. Must have a valid driver’s license. Ability to acquire and maintain any specific special clearances/access requirements Must be able to travel frequently Must have the legal right to work in the United States. Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.Job Requirements:
Education/Experience
Must have at least eight years of experience in the fields of Industrial Safety and /or Human Performance. Industrial safety completion of OSHA Levels I and II and /or 30 hours of Human Performance/INPO training or equivalent is desired. Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university, additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education Must have at least four years of experience in the field dealing with MTSA and CFATS regulated facilities.Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing)
