Basic Job Functions:Mission Critical Construction Services, the installation division of Nucor Data Systems, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Site Safety Supervisor. The Site Safety Supervisor will provide critical support to Field Superintendents, Regional Managers, and the Field Techs in ensuring the implementation of safety protocols across all field job sites. This role is key to maintaining safety compliance and promoting a safe working environment through audits, training, and field engagement. The coordinator will ensure adherence to both company and regulatory safety requirements.
Safety Program Support: Assist Field Superintendents and Area Managers with all aspects of the field safety program implementation. Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with Nucor Data Systems’ safety program, contractor safety programs, and federal/state regulations. Report significant safety issues to the Safety Manager and Area Manager. Corrective Actions: Proactively address safety concerns, issuing corrective actions directly with Foremen, Superintendents, or contractors as needed. Field Audits: Conduct frequent job site visits to audit safety plans and generate monthly safety reports. Collaborate on safe work plans. Training: Facilitate and support new hire safety training, on-site mentoring, and safety refreshers. Incident Investigations: Assist in accident/incident reviews, root cause investigations, and documentation such as photographs and witness statements. Program Development: Collaborate with Superintendents and Area Managers on developing safety procedures, goals, and evaluations of program effectiveness. Claims Management: Assist in injury/illness treatment procedures and OSHA record-keeping as required. Other duties as assigned.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction safety and health. Valid OSHA 30-hour certification. Knowledge of OSHA standards, particularly CFR 1926. Ability to obtain OSHA 500 certification within the first 6 months of employment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in project scheduling and tracking. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address potential issues proactively. Knowledge of the construction industry, particularly in relation to production and logistics processes. Ability to travel as required. Preferred Qualifications: Previous safety leadership/ supervisor experience, preferred. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field. Experience in the data center industry, with knowledge of specific requirements and challenges associated with data center construction. Experience using scheduling and project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
