Site Security Supervisor


The Security Supervisor assists the Regional Security Manager in planning, organizing, coordinating and directing contract security employees and the performance of security functions in the warehouse / distribution location.The Security Supervisor assists in creation of schedule strategy with the contract Security Officers to provide 24-hour protection to protect the company, employees, guests and property from fire, theft, intruders, vandalism and other situations which endanger the well-being of the employees or property of each facility.Influences, advises and guides all departments in the facility regarding security regulations and procedures. Develops emergency procedures, responds to incidents, and resolves problems or requests assistance of local authorities.Administers site loss prevention program, including monitoring building access and security systems.


Key Accountabilities:


Assist in managing a team of security personnel (Contract Security), as well as the security vendor relationship.Institutes and enforces approved procedures that come under the jurisdiction of the Security Force.Recommends modifications in security regulations when necessary.Assists in updating and maintaining security regulations manuals.Coordinate security for any special functions that may occur in the facility.Administrative duties as required: maintenance of Security budgets, security billings, memos to employees and other departments, purchase orders, etc.Inspects buildings and grounds to ensure protection from intruders, fire hazards, theft, and vandalism. Ensures compliance with standard operating procedures regarding restriction of access and badge authentication.Ensure proper maintenance of all physical security equipment: radios, alarms, CCTV, uniforms, etc.Act as liaison with all supply vendors.Advises site operations staff regarding safety, security, and quality assurance issues; makes appropriate recommendations for correction and/or escalates as appropriate.Maintains liaison with local law enforcement and state agencies.Acts as subject matter expert on site systems related to inventory movement and associated functions that can cause loss.Manages usage of all physical security programs and processes within site, including physical alarm systems, CCTV, and supporting programs of each.Conducts security awareness and training to operational staff.Investigates disturbances and alarm activations and in the event of an emergency, takes charge of policing to maintain order, safety and to protect property.Develop in-house shortage control program to include inspection and procedural self-audit programs.This to include weekly audits of all warehouse locations and monthly status reports on audit outcomes to the VP-Corporate Loss Prevention and Security.Partner with Americas Security Team to ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory statutes.Actively participates in continuing education and motivation of associates to achieve company, customer, and overall loss prevention goals.Completes accurate reporting related to internal and external investigations.Conducts safety, security, and procedural incident investigations and audits.Contacts Americas Security Team as appropriate.Stays abreast of investigative and interviewing techniques and procedures and maintains positive interaction with local law enforcement agencies to assist in common loss prevention goals.Responds to and investigates all instances of reported and suspected associate dishonesty; conducts interviews in partnership with Human Resources and Americas Security Team as applicable.Ensures that site(s) are in compliance with customer commercial risk and security requirements.Partners with customer representative to complete required risk and security assessments.Ensures that site(s) Business Continuity Plans (BCP) / Contingency Plans include risk and security requirements.Performs other duties as assigned and as directed by the VP-Corporate Loss Prevention and Security.


Required Education and Experience:


High school diploma and/or GEDBachelor’s degree in related fieldOne to three years of security, loss prevention, law enforcement, and/or military experienceOne to three years of supervisory experience in a security environmentWorking knowledge of logistics securityWorking knowledge of local, state, and federal security regulationsGood verbal and written communication skillsGood systematic problem solving skillsGood interviewing and interrogation skillsGood computer skills, including use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software programsWorking knowledge of physical security systems
