Summary: Under the general direction of the Director, Laboratory Services is responsible for the maintenance of the delivery of quality, cost-effective laboratory services in compliance with all regulatory and licensing standards. Manages day to day functions of the laboratory. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science. Master's Degree in similar fields strongly preferred. Proficient in the use of various software applications is required. Licensure: MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP). Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a related clinical environment required. Management Experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required + Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of individuals. + Ability to objectively appraise and analyze information and situations. + Ability to identify needed changes in process or direction. Working Conditions/Physical Demands + Generally normal office conditions and in various Laboratory Services, hospital clinical areas, various other patient care and related areas. + Sits and stands for the majority of the day. + Must be able to meet the physical requirements for staff level positions in the department(s) as necessary. + Some pushing and pulling of wheeled carts, occasional lifting frequently of 10 to 15 lbs. + Occasional stress due to multiple demands of the position.
