Summary
We’re looking for a highly motivated and detailed leader to fill the role as a SIU Manager who has a passion for managing individuals. As a SIU Manager, you will supervise the management of the Special Investigations Unit and ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. It will be your responsibility to lead Supervisors over individual SIU sections. You will be responsible for developing action plans, coaching, and using performance data to make decisions. Oversee claim investigations and independent investigations leading to prompt resolution. Coordinate and manages training for associates. Reports results to management and makes recommendations for changes. Participate in business planning and strategic developments. Manger will work independently and in a team environment.

Primary Position Objective:
Under general supervision of the Senior Manager, is RESPONSIBLE for the special investigation function to prevent and detect internal and external fraudulent practices and activities within the office.
Essential Functions:
INTERVIEWS and/or APPROVES job applicants for employment. CONDUCTS and/or REVIEWS associate
Performance Appraisals. INITIATES or APPROVES salary adjustments, performance ratings, and other personnel changes. COUNSELS associates and TAKES disciplinary action or TERMINATES the employment of associates as appropriate.
DIRECTS outside SIU Security investigations and Independent Investigators in the proper and prompt resolution of questionable claims.
MANAGES the development of evidence to support investigations and DETERMINES appropriate courses of action, i.e.; prosecution, restitution, etc.
COORDINATES training for regional associates in the prevention and detection of internal and external fraud.
USES available company and industry data from all sources for the detection of suspected or actual fraud.
PROVIDES regional management with appropriate reports related to SIU operational activities.
MANAGES the analytical support component of regional SIU Operations.
ACTS as liaison to HO SIU security unit, serving on the SIU Managers Council. The SIU Managers Council provides guidance and recommendations to enhance our fraud fighting capability.
ACTS as liaison to State Fraud Bureaus, NICB and other Law Enforcement Agencies and the Insurance Industry in the region.
PARTICIPATES in and MAINTAINS membership in local fraud committees.
PREPARES department business plans, staffing projections and budgets. REQUISITIONS supplies and materials necessary for efficient operation. REVIEWS plans and budgets periodically to achieve cost reduction where possible.
ADHERES to the GEICO Code of Conduct, the GEICO Claims Code of Conduct, company policies and operating principles.
MEETS attendance standard at business location to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with subordinates and management.
