Rate of Pay: $19.53 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits

Hours of Work: Seasonal work. Start date will be as early as conditions of employment have been completed. Shifts will include Fridays 2:45-5:45pm (approximate) and/or Saturdays 8:45-11:45am (approximate). Term will end March 31, 2025.

Summary

This position is responsible for planning and teaching skate lessons, supervising public skates and teaching various on-ice programs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Establish a friendly, safe atmosphere for all visitors to the Leisure Complex and maintain good customer service Create and implement lessons plans and program schedules Instruct children and adults of all ages and abilities, to skate and play hockey Work cohesively with other instructors in group settings Maintain safe work practices Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD. Performs other related duties as required. Additional Information None Key Skills & Abilities Ability to teach hockey and/or skating to children and adults Strong, confident skating and/or hockey skills Enjoy working with children and/or adults Ability to establish rapport with children Ability to adapt to skill level of group
  Qualifications Recreational Skate Instructor Course Some directly related experience Certifications Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment. Emergency First Aid and CPR-C
