A Machinist for Wise Foods will operate machine tools to fabricate and manufacture Machine parts. Duties/Responsibilities: + Operates fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes. + Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts. + Selects the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines. + Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors. + Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; performs minor repairs within expertise. + Maintains cleanliness and safety of work area. + Complies with applicable safety standards and regulations. + Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: + Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining. + Ability to read blueprints and plans. + Excellent mechanical skills. + Excellent time management skills. + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. + Knowledgeable of fire prevention practices, procedures and equipment + Knowledgeable of safety rules, regulations and practices with regard to personal safety and the safety of others in the immediate work area + Work and comply with the company GMP standards Education & Experience + High School or GED. + Trade School Experience + 5 - 7 years as a skilled Machinist Physical Demands: + Ability to stand and move for long periods of time + Ability to lift items weighing in excess of 50 lbs. frequently + Ability to work in hot and cold environments + Ability to work with chemicals + Mobility and movements - frequent ability to bend, twist, kneel, squat, climb, reach outwards and upwards, grasp and twist wrists About Wise: Wise Foods Inc. is a leading producer of salty snacks with a long heritage.
