Summary:
The Skip Tracer will play a crucial role in locating individuals who have defaulted on their loans or are otherwise difficult to find, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and bank policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough research and analysis to locate individuals who have defaulted on their obligations using various skip tracing techniques, such as online databases, social media, public records, and other resources to gather information.Adhere to all legal and ethical guidelines in the course of investigations.Collaborate closely with internal departments such as collections, legal, and fraud prevention to share information, gather additional leads, and to achieve successful outcomes.Maintain accurate and detailed records of all investigative and skip tracing activities and findings, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.Communicate effectively with debtors, legal representatives, and third-party vendors to obtain necessary information.Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to improve skip tracing efficiency and effectiveness.Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to skip tracing and debt collection.Perform other duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalentMinimum of 2 years of experience in skip tracing, collections, or related field within the banking or financial services industry.Strong knowledge of skip tracing techniques, databases, and tools. Proficiency in using online databases, social media, and other investigative tools.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and skip tracing software.Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyHigh level of integrity and commitment to ethical practices.Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field.Additional education or certifications in criminal justice, investigations, or related fields.Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Professional Collector (CPC) certification.Experience working with legal documents and understanding of legal processes related to debt collection.Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing debt collection practices.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and adaptability.Previous experience in a customer service or call center environment.
