Sleep Research Program Manager (Hybrid Opportunity)

Dr. Emmanuel Mignot’s laboratory, within the Division of Sleep Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, is seeking a Sleep Research Program Manager. The Mignot Lab is dedicated to studying sleep and neuroimmune disorders, including narcolepsy, paraneoplastic syndromes, Parkinson's disease, and Kleine Levin Syndrome. Combining basic molecular research with clinical and translational approaches, the Mignot Lab seeks to advance the understanding of these disorders. The Program Manager will oversee daily operations and lead the clinical trial program, working alongside basic science researchers, clinical research coordinators, university offices, and external collaborators.

In this role, the Program Manager will supervise the execution of clinical trials, manage staffing needs, and serve as the primary liaison with sponsors and Stanford University departments, including research finance, contracts, compliance, and the IRB. The Program Manager will partner with the lab’s Sr. Basic Life Research Scientist to ensure smooth operations for the Mignot wet lab research. Responsibilities include overseeing trial operations, developing and submitting funding applications, managing data and material transfer agreements, and ensuring compliance with university and federal policies. The successful candidate must demonstrate strategic thinking, adaptability, and strong leadership in a dynamic research environment.

Dutiesinclude:

Independentlyimplement,administerandevaluateday-to-dayactivitiesoftheunit,functionorprogrambyidentifyingand achieve thegoalsofthe program.Collectandanalyzedata,createreports,reviewandexplaintrends;formulateandevaluatealternativesolutionsand/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.Analyzeandinterpretpolicies;develop,reviseandimplementproceduresforprogramorfunction.Representtheprogramorfunctionas thekeycontactandsubjectmatterexpertwithinthedepartment,unitorschool.Commit resources and provide information and/or training. May also represent the program or function to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.Organizeand/orparticipateinoutreachactivitiesthatmayincludedevelopingcommunicationsandtraining, planning/promoting events and/or conferences.Mayparticipateindevelopmentofbudgets,monitor,andapproveexpenditures.Mayperformlimitedforecastingandprovide recommendations that determine the budget.Maydirectstaffto performvarioustasksand assignments. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree preferred in related field and five years of experience in clinical research, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Previousexperiencein supervisingstaff.Projectmanagementexperience.Previousexperienceworkinginan academic setting managingclinicaltrialstudies.Experience withfunding andcontractproposalpreparationandsubmission processesand procedures.Excellent interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications.Experience with research protocols and regulatory or governing bodies, which include HIPAA and FDA regulations, Institutional Review Board requirements, and Good Clinical Practices.Knowledge of medical terminology.

EDUCATION&EXPERIENCE(REQUIRED):

Bachelor'sdegreeand three yearsofrelevantexperience,orcombinationofeducation andrelevantexperience.

The expected pay range for this position is $99,015 - $126,383 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing it's good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
