Slot Tech Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 General:   Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and welcoming attitude toward all external and internal guests at all times. Assist and advise other departments and Company personnel as necessary to ensure the successful performance of slots and the property in general. Maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial information, operating systems, company policies and procedures, marketing plans, and team member information. Complete all required daily financial tools and reports. Develops and manages the budget for the Slot Technical department. Maintaining required documentation of slot moves, maintenance and repair logs, and purchase orders and requisitions for slot machine parts and supplies. Training of Slot Technical supervisors and technicians and occasional assistance in troubleshooting various slot machine malfunctions.  Delegate authority and assign responsibilities. Responsible for reviewing reports and statistical data for malfunctions or other problems and implementing appropriate maintenance and repair lists. Appropriately discern and timely communicate situations that require executive management attention. Assist with interviewing, hiring, developing, and evaluating team members. Review, approve, and administer disciplinary action as necessary. Mediate and solve problems for team members and guests, and establish and maintain effective lines of communication throughout the department and on all shifts. Ensure technical proficiency of all slot tech department team members through guidance and effective training programs. Assist with the development of work schedules and assignments for slot tech department staff. Maintain safety policies and procedures, instruct team members, and follow up to ensure hazards are eliminated. Enforce all Company and department policies and procedures, including appearance and uniform guidelines, and all regulations and internal controls. Utilize training and existing policies and procedures to make sound business decisions. Continuously strive to build and maintain rapport with guests by promptly and professionally handling disputes and making every effort to achieve guest satisfaction. Build rapport and coordinate daily activities with support departments. Coordinate with Security and Surveillance to detect and prevent attempts to cheat or damage gaming equipment. Assist in maintaining a spotless casino by disposing of any cups, glasses, or bottles left by guests. Improve productivity by recommending improvements, processes, equipment, and systems. Possess a thorough working knowledge of all slots department games and equipment. Implement changes related to Title 31 guidelines as necessary. Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and Company policies in an ethical manner and empower and require others to do the same. Produce and deliver reports as needed or required. Have complete knowledge of all casino events and promotional activities. Keep work area in a clean and orderly manner. Ensure the safety and security of all guests and team members. Comply with all policies and procedures established by Company and department management. Must be able to work a flexible schedule as required by business operations, including late nights, weekends, and holidays; shifts and work locations may change. Other duties as assigned or any reasonable request from any member of management. Operating Principles:  Ensure at all times operating principles are being adhered to: Clean – Keep all areas clean and pristine; Safe – Follow all safety policies and procedures; Friendly – Use customer courtesy skills of Family Style Service to provide superior guest service; Fun – Be interactive with all internal and external guests while maintaining professional standards. Tools and Technology:  Use of computer station, Microsoft office software, casino tracking programs (ABS, IVS, CMS, Micros, Bis2, Maximo, Kronos, Stratton Warren), Auto CAD, hand-held radio, telephone and PBX system, voicemail, fax, copier, electronics equipment. Licensure:  Must be able to obtain and maintain a 1055 Slot/Cardroom/Pari-Mutuel Individual Combo License. Must be at least 21 years of age. Three (3) years of tax returns required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:  Five to seven years’ experience in electronics and maintenance of technical equipment, game

Machines or slot machines preferred with a 4-year degree in related fields or equivalent work experience.  Gaming industry experience is required. 

Knowledge:  Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.  Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.  Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.  Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles’ involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.  Knowledge of gaming laws and regulations. Skills:  Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.  Give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and not interrupt at inappropriate times. Talking to others to convey information effectively.  Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.  Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Monitor/Assess performance of oneself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

Work Environment:  A fast paced Casino environment with exposure to electricity, static charges, bright flashing lights, loud noise, smoke and varied temperatures. Use of elevator and stairs.
