How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Small Account Sales Specialist is responsible for the management and profitable growth of Airgas business within an assigned sales territory. Responsible for implementing and maintaining the service model to include ordering, deliveries and vendor managed inventory (VMI) programs, establishing safe handling practices, efficient order processing and invoicing, initiating and executing cost reduction programs, and reporting on day-to-day customer interfacing through CRM. Responsible for meeting required objectives for sales and profitability growth within the assigned territory. Retains and expands
customer wallet share and margin growth while prospecting new opportunities. Collaborates with Branch team, Account manager and District Manager on market intelligence by performing the following.

The hourly range for this role is $26- $32.

● Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.
● Adheres to and assure compliance with the Code of Conduct/Handbook, policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulating and standards promulgated by federal, state and other applicable agencies or regulating bodies.
● Develops and executes branch specific sales and marketing plans for small accounts within assigned territory.
● Works collaboratively with Sales Specialists to propose and deliver Airgas value propositions to customers.
● Establish and maintain clear and consistent communication with internal departments relative to customer successes, customer failures, new customer developments and other customer specific information. Provides regular feedback and updates to the direct manage
● Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers. Identifies and qualifies prospective customers within the assigned area or territory and keeps branch manager and district manager informed.
● Conducts and coordinates area customer VMI program including delivery of product, restocking and resupply as necessary.
● Assists customers with appropriate products, verifies availability and enters orders in the database using SAP.
● Works as a team with Account manager to maintain continuity in pricing strategies for each account.
● Prospects and develops sales created or provided by the branch or District Manager.
● Qualifies customer leads and gathers intelligence in the field. Works opportunities through sales process in collaboration with internal partners.
● Orders product to ensure proper inventory levels are met. Communicates inventory requirements and changes to supporting branches.
● Communicate customer concerns and questions to proper Airgas personnel.
● Completes all paperwork in accordance with Airgas standards.

● Maintains a professional and neat appearance of self and vehicle when representing the company.

Required Education:


● High School Diploma, or the equivalent, three years related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience.


Required Length and Type of Experience:


● Minimum of one to three years of experience in an industrial retail, inside sales, customer service and/or inventory control related position.
● Detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities preferred.
● Knowledge of industrial gasses, welding supply and hardware is highly desirable.
● Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
● SAP or similar software system experience. Intermediate skill operating a computer using Google Suite is recommended.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):
● Ability to be available to work a very flexible schedule
● Proven ability to work independently and under tight deadlines in a detail oriented environment.
● Must possess a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and appropriate level of auto insurance coverage.
● Must have reliable transportation and be able to work flexible hours to meet management expectations.
● Must have proficient computer skills using Google system
● Must be comfortable with public speaking and presenting information in front of a group.
● Possess strong interpersonal and oral communication skills to communicate effectively with a diverse group of associates, management, medical and insurance personnel, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the general public.
