Job Description
The Small Business Accountant is responsible for managing the financial operations of the company, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, 401(k) plan management, healthcare insurance and employee benefits plan management, journal entries, prepaid expenses account management, bank statement reconciliation, company credit cards management, corporate tax returns coordination, and sales and use tax filings.
Responsibilities
+ Handle all billing for the company’s 3 revenue streams.
+ Oversee the collections process for accounts receivable.
+ Manage the daily processing of incoming vendor invoices and the weekly process of paying vendors via ACH funds transfer or check.
+ Manage and process payroll for all employees, including expense reimbursements and loan payments.
+ Administer the company’s 401(k) plan, including employee enrollments, contributions, and loans.
+ Oversee the annual setup and enrollment process for healthcare insurance and employee benefits plans.
+ Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
+ Maintain the prepaid expenses account accurately and timely.
+ Reconcile bank statements on a timely basis.
+ Manage and account for company credit card transactions monthly.
+ Coordinate with the CPA firm for the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns.
+ Prepare and file sales and use tax returns as required.
Essential Skills
+ Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
+ Experience in transactional accounting.
+ Proficiency in QuickBooks software.
+ Excellent communication and leadership skills.
+ Strong administrative support and customer service skills.
Work Environment
The work schedule is from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, on-site in a standard cubicle setting with a production/warehouse area in the back. The location is centrally located in Jefferson Park, right off the freeway. Some flexibility for remote work is available for occasional needs such as doctor appointments or when a child is sick. The leadership team has amazing tenure, and there is plenty of work to keep you busy.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $47.00/hr.
