Small Engine Mechanic | Full Time Year Round
Overview SUMMARY The person in this position must maintain a high level of preventive maintenance on a variety of tools, small engines and equipment, with a goal of 0% down time. Knowledge of ordering parts and parts catalogs as well as maintaining logs and work sheets in an orderly manner is extremely important. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employees' job is to get and keep guests. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Ensure proper operation of engines, tools and equipment by checking for worn parts and completing preventive maintenance according to manufacturers' maintenance manuals. Develop schedule of preventive maintenance. Locate sources of problems by observing, listening to and checking mechanical devices in operation. Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, examining and diagnosing cause of failure and correcting the condition. Maintain logs and work sheets of inspections and maintenance performed on all equipment. Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventory and conserves resources by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate equipment, parts and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. May operate a variety of light equipment and power tools while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies with this equipment. Willingness to cross train for big equipment maintenance and repairs. RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY: Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Loon Mountain Resort guests at all times. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures. Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others. Drive in accordance with the law and Loon Mountain Resort policies. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Education or direct experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively within a professional manner. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Basic math skills are required. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding and to solve practical problems. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS N.H. Operators License required. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock; and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
