Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) Air Operations Site Manager
Join a team of Research, Design, Test, & Evaluation (RDT&E) professionals who are identifying, developing, demonstrating, and assessing technologies and concepts to help protect America’s homeland in support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Office of Mission and Capability Support (MCS). Amentum is actively seeking a Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) Air Operations Site Manager to coordinate all UAS and counter-UAS activities between multiple agencies and stakeholders at a government-leased site at Summit Point, WV. Efforts will directly contribute to customer assessments and training on emerging technologies, to include UAS Traffic Management (UTM) UAS Service Supplier (USS) software. The successful candidate will drive project accomplishment in collaboration with DHS S&T leaders, DHS Component staffs, contract team members, vendors, and other subject matter experts and supporting organizations. This position is hybrid 3 to 5 days per week at Summit Point, WV, depending on site schedule requirements. Essential Responsibilities: + Professionally represent Amentum as lead for customer-focused sUAS/C-UAS safety and scheduling site activities, directly reporting to Amentum Program Management. + Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for multi-stakeholder scheduling of site activities, utilizing site UTM USS, in coordination with resident site organizations. + Develop initial operating policies for DHS UTM efforts. + Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies for sUAS operations aligned to and in coordination with resident site organizations. Ensure all operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Amentum policies and safety standards. + Support data collection and analysis for active events as requested and coordinated with stakeholders leveraging site UTM USS system. + Serve as resident SME on UTM USS system and train other users as required. + Maintain awareness of weather and other impacts potentially affecting schedule and coordinate with site users to minimize stakeholder execution risk. + Maintain a historical record and calendar of all site activities + Assist with traffic management for site activities, as required. + Advise program management team on matters affecting project success, schedule, and cost impacts, and develop project recovery plans as required + Represent the organization in meetings and conferences as required + Perform other duties as assigned, to include direct support for other Amentum sUAS and CUAS projects. + May supervise other staff members. + Up to 20% travel may be required. Min Reqs: + U.S. citizenship + Must be able to pass DHS entry on duty (EOD) requirements to start and maintain Public Trust suitability status + Bachelor's degree and 8+ years related work experience, or demonstrated equivalent, or 5+ years of relevant experience with Master’s degree. + Knowledge of sUAS operations and policies + FAA Part 107 License Preferred Quals: + Active Public Trust designation + Active Secret/Top Secret security clearance + Knowledge of DHS, DoD, or other law enforcement sUAS and/or C-UAS efforts during the last five years Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
