In virtually every country in LAC, Micro, Small, and Medium Businesses (MSMEs) are the lifeblood of economic vitality.  They represent 90% of the workforce and 55% of GDP.  The Covid-19 pandemic only emphasized the importance of MSMEs to economic recovery and growth.

The LAC Commercial Products & Engineering team is looking for a Lead, Micro & Small Business Product Management to help drive our growth in the segment through solution innovation, value proposition enhancements (core & via partnerships), distribution of Mastercard products and solutions via alternative distribution channels, and P&L optimization. The ideal candidate is passionate about the Micro and Small Business segment, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.

Role

In this product management position the selected candidate will:



Execute against our strategy to capture incremental segment share and help secure market, divisional and regional leadership

Lead Mastercard assets in support of small businesses, such as learning platforms and entrepreneurship programs

Manage segment products and solutions on a daily basis, tracking performance, building roadmap and improving products capabilities

Work on analytics investigations, business KPIs monitoring, financial analysis, business cases development and corporate reports updates

Analyze market trends, competition, and MSME lifecycle journeys to inform product and go-to-market strategies, driving product differentiation and innovation

Manage the relationship with suppliers and external partners

Identify partnership opportunities to drive value proposition improvements and new distribution channels

Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders (e.g. O&T, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Market Development, C&I, D&S/Advisors, etc.) to deliver on role and business objectives (eg. portfolio growth, financial analysis/P&L driver optimization, marketing & sales materials, product enhancements, pipeline management etc.) 

Support Sales colleagues in customer-facing negotiations to help advance MSME objectives

Work with other regional, divisional and country teams to ensure sales readiness and training by developing necessary sales enablement tools for MSME

The ideal candidate for this position should:



Be passionate about ‘empowering every business everywhere’ and the idea of democratizing access to powerful tools that help MSMEs thrive 

Have proven experience in engaging internal and external commercial and technical stakeholders to drive both solution development and adoption

Have intermediate experience in financial services and/or payments with an understanding of competitive offerings, industry trends and profitability drivers

Have intermediate knowledge on analytics applications, such as Excel or Power BI

MSME banking or MSME payment experience, international market knowledge/experience a plus

Have a keen understanding of competitive offerings, industry trends and go-to-market considerations; ability to translate that understanding into meaningful action and enhancements 

Have demonstrated ability to work across divisional and regional boundaries; strong relationship management, influencing, presentation/verbal and communication skills

Be self-motivated, a self-starter and a quick learner with ability to work independently and manage different priorities; thrives in a fast-paced environment; readiness to take-on stretch goals

Undergraduate degree required

Fluency in Spanish/Portuguese and English is required.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. Pay Ranges

Miami, Florida: $119,000 - $190,000 USD
