Be part of something truly transformative by joining our new Smoking Cessation Service in Bromley. This is your chance to shape a life-changing program from the ground up, making a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of young people and families across our diverse and vibrant community.

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Young People and Families Smoke-Free Advisor to deliver tailored, high-quality interventions that inspire individuals to lead healthier, smoke-free lives. This role is all about building relationships, supporting positive change, and helping families thrive.

 

 

Hours: Part Time, 18.75 hours per week 

Actual Salary Range: £12,233.50 - £13,055.44 Dependent on experience (Based on 18¾ hours per week / pro rata) 

Allowance: £1,081.635 Outer London Weighting, (Based on 18¾ hours per week / pro rata)

 

Please note that interviews will take place on Thursday, 27th February 2025. The highest-scoring candidates will then be invited back for a Values-Based Interview on Friday, 28th February 2025.

 

 

Responsibilities

About the Role:


In this role, you’ll focus on empowering young people and families to embrace a smoke-free lifestyle. Your work will directly contribute to better health outcomes and a brighter future for our community.

 

What You’ll Do:

Inspire Change: Promote the benefits of a smoke-free life through community engagement and events.Work Collaboratively: Partner with our Bromley Young Persons service to engage young people and their families supporting them to stop smoking.Deliver Tailored Interventions: Provide individualised or group-based smoking cessation support using NRT, Champix, and e-cigarette protocols.Train and Support Professionals: Deliver Very Brief Advice training to health and social care professionals and assist pharmacists with nicotine replacement therapy.Raise Awareness: Actively engage with the community to highlight the impacts of smoking and encourage referrals.

 

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with young people, families, or in health/social care settings.The ability to assess needs and deliver person-centered interventions.Knowledge of smoking cessation treatments and the harmful effects of smoking.Skills in motivational interviewing and providing behavioral support.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic record systems.A collaborative and empathetic approach with excellent communication skills.
