**EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for **SMTS Hardware** in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position is located in our **Germantown, MD** office.
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Perform the lead role in the electrical engineering projects to design and qualify printed circuit boards (PCBs) required for satellite communication terminals, and plan and implement the engineering development effort for various sub-modules/firmware necessary for satellite ground-station systems components.
+ Execute the high-level electrical engineering design tasks required for projects, including defining appropriate protocols and formats; and defining system architecture and the interfacing between system components.
+ Plan and conduct an analysis of the functional requirements for proposed PCB development and establish engineering proposals to meet these requirements, to include the selection of required parts and materials.
+ Be responsible for the high-speed signal integrity analysis throughout the circuit design and development process.
+ Plan and implement the use of circuit simulation and related software tools in the design process.
+ Plan and execute the electrical engineering schematic capture necessary for the product development process.
+ Provide electrical engineering analysis and guidance to resolve high-level process and product problems that may impact overall circuit development operations; recommend new concepts and approaches to management to improve the quality of the circuit-products.
+ Plan the overall design verification testing process and ensure proper implementation and documentation.
+ Execute product failure analysis at the production stage, provide root-cause analysis with full documentation and recommendations for solutions.
+ Recommend new engineering processes and optimization techniques to the organization’s management to improve the overall quality of PCB design operations.
+ Provide professional mentorship to entry-level engineers, plan and implement knowledge transfer regarding the organization’s standard operating procedures, tools, and software for PCB design and production.
**Basic Requirements:**
+ Masters degree in an Electrical Engineering field and 3 years of experience in an Electrical Engineer position.
+ As an alternative, a Bachelor’s degree in an Electrical Engineering field and 5 years of experience in an Electrical Engineer position will be acceptable.
**Special Requirements:**
+ 3 years of domain experience conducting electrical engineering in the satellite communication or broadband date industries.
+ 3 years of experience performing verification and testing of PCBs.
+ 3 years’ experience drafting electrical engineering schematics to support circuit design.
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $154,024.00 - $154,024.00
