Warriors to Smurfit Westrock SkillBridge Program 

  

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Smurfit Westrock SkillBridge Program.  Most of all, thank you for your service. Our Military & Veteran Engagement Program is dedicated to attracting, employing, and retaining military and veterans. 

 

At Smurfit Westrock, selected full-time positions have been made into SkillBridge Program opportunities. These roles are unique opportunities for Active-Duty US Armed Forces service members with authorization to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program as directed by their respective command.  

 

The Smurfit WestRock SkillBridge Program is a 90-day training program located at select manufacturing plant locations across the U.S. During the program, participants will be trained in various disciplines as it pertains to the operations of a paper and packaging plant. Training curriculum includes required tasks in operations, maintenance, production, shipping/receiving, quality, and safety. Prior to the completion of the 90-day program, participants will be given an opportunity to interview for a full-time position in one of these departments at the plant. All our SkillBridge Program opportunities are intended to give participants industry exposure and on-the-job work experience. Participants will be given an opportunity to interview for a full-time position towards the end of the program. 

 

Program Requirements 

Must be an active-duty U.S. Military member with 180 days of time in service remaining.  

Active-duty National Guard and Reserve members should contact their local Education and/or Transition Office for more information on SkillBridge Program eligibility.  

Must meet DoD SkillBridge Program qualifications to participate in the program.   

Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of program.
